Wylie Methodist Church in Abilene, Texas is a family of believers where Jesus Christ is Lord. We are very happy to have you visit our website and we hope to meet you in person very soon. We are located at 3430 Antilley Road in Abilene, Texas. Before you come, we would like to introduce ourselves and attempt to answer some of your questions, so you will know what to expect on your first visit.
Sunday Mornings
As you enter the atrium door you will be greeted by one of our members who will direct you to the Welcome Center. There you will meet people that will be able to point the way into the sanctuary for the worship service or to a Sunday School class, and they will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Children’s Ministry
Kids are very important at Wylie Methodist and we have a place for yours. We offer a nursery for infants through 2-year-olds, Sunday School groups for kids 3 years old through the 3rd grade, and children’s church during the worship service for kids 3 yrs to 3rd grade. Worship Service
We have two worship services which begin at 8:30 am and 10:45 am. They both begin with praise and worship led by a team of musicians with guitars, piano, and keyboard. We love all kinds of music and blend contemporary praise songs with traditional hymns. Following a children’s sermon, we continue the service with prayer, worship songs, and a scripture-based sermon to inspire us as we are sent back out into our community to “go tell someone”.
Children’s Church
After a time of praise and a short greeting time, we invite all the children from ages 3 years to 3rd grade to gather at the front for a children’s sermon. Immediately following this message, the children have the opportunity to participate in their very own Children’s Church. They will hear a Bible lesson, pray, sing, and have activities that engage them in learning. Parents pick them up after the worship service on most Sundays and on the first Sunday of each month, they will rejoin their families in the sanctuary for communion.
What To Wear
We want you to be comfortable, so we don’t require you to dress any certain way. You will find that some people will wear business attire while others will dress more casually. The choice is yours.
For Those with Disabilities
There is wheelchair access to the building and once inside, we have an elevator to take you to the upper level. If you need a little help in hearing the service, we can help. On your smart phone, you can download the Audio Everywhere app in order to access the audio of the service through earbuds attached to your phone. Just stop by the Sound Booth in the back and one of our technicians will get you fixed up.
Driving Directions
From Abilene, exit Hwy 84 (Winters Freeway) at Buffalo Gap Road. Travel South on Buffalo Gap Road approximately 3 miles. Turn Left (East) onto Antilley Road. We will be on the left side of the street.
If you are coming in on Hwy 83-84 from the south, exit at Antilley Road. Turn left onto Antilley and travel approximately 1 mile. We will be on the right side of the street.
